Growth and Development update – June 2023

In our latest Growth and Development newsletter we share our key development news and highlight our areas of focus and growth aspirations.

2022/23 was another strong year of growth.

Working across the Midlands and East of England we:

  • Completed 584 new homes
  • Generated a sales income of nearly £21 million, from the sale of 195 shared ownership homes and a further £13 million from asset sales, right to buy and staircasing
  • Approved 19 new sites which will deliver over 550 new homes.

We also saw new opportunities to develop unused brownfield sites into thriving communities while keeping on track with our business objective of delivering 600-700 homes each year.

We've continued to build great partnerships as demonstrated by our successful bid of £6.3m of grant funding as part of the Department of Energy Security and Net Zero Decarbonisation Fund.

Our relationship with MAN Group goes from strength to strength as we take over the lettings and management of their developments in Alconbury Weald, Cambridgeshire and Dysart Road, in Grantham developments. Once again we're working with Urban and Civic at Waterbeach to bring further affordable properties with a modern and contemporary design to a sought-after location.

None of this would've been possible without the other long-standing relationships we've developed across the supply chain and working in partnership with local authorities, developers and consultants.

Marcus Keys
Executive Director of Growth and Development.
