Community Grants Fund launched by Group
We recently launched our Community Grants Fund to support registered charities and not-for-profit organisations across the communities we serve.
Charities, social enterprises and not-for profit organisations were invited to apply for grants of up to £5,000 to support work that aligns with our Improving Lives 2025 strategy.
The Fund was launched by our Community Investment Team, which carefully selected worthy causes from across our operational area and invited them to apply for the funding.
We were inundated with responses and applications which were then assessed by a team of colleagues drawn from across the Group, with funding being distributed to the chosen organisations.
Karen Prince, Head of Community Programmes, said: “We’re delighted to be able to deliver the Community Grants Fund, which’ll help support and bolster the fantastic work of a variety of organisations that work tirelessly to improve the lives of people across our operational area.
The response to the first round of funding was great and it’s really rewarding for us as a Group to be able to support these brilliant organisations with the great work they do.
“We know that many of these organisations have identified local need in their areas and many have experienced an increase in demand during the Coronavirus pandemic, so it’s great to know this funding will go some way to
supporting them in providing their valued services.
“I’m really looking forward to seeing how the money helps them to deliver their work that many people living in our communities are in need of.”
Entries for this round of funding has now closed, and we’ll bring you full details of the winning organisations in the next edition of Our Voice.
