Free app can help tackle domestic abuse
We’re encouraging all customers to consider downloading the Bright Sky app to help us tackle the issue of domestic abuse.
The free app provides support and information for anyone who may be in an abusive relationship or those concerned about someone they know.
It contains a directory of services which’ll help you find local and national support services, while you can also find out how to spot the signs of domestic abuse.
Bright Sky is managed by the charity Hestia. Hestia supports adults and children in times of crisis, including people experiencing domestic abuse.
Craig Taylor, Director of Housing, said: “While it may seem like domestic abuse is a topic not relevant to you, we can all do our bit to tackle the issue.
If we know how to spot the signs of domestic abuse taking place, or know how to help a victim or where to signpost them for professional support, then we’re all able to make a difference.
“We’re encouraging our colleagues to visit the Bright Sky website and download the app, and we’d be very grateful if our customers could do the same.
“If we all work together, we can make a real difference to the victims of domestic abuse.”
The initial development of the Bright Sky website was funded by the Home Office. Vodafone Foundation supported the launch of the Bright Sky app and continue to support its development in the UK and internationally.
