Couple’s delight with new modern kitchen upgrade
A kitchen refurbishment at one of our properties on Beechdale in Walsall has been hailed as a “fantastic job” by our customer.
Kim Meakin, who lives on Newton Place with her husband Rob, said she was delighted with the result of the work at their home, which has seen the previous kitchen which was thought to be around 40 years old completely transformed.
The work has been done as part of our planned programme of improvements and has seen a tiny box kitchen located in the corner of the couple’s living space turned into a large, modern area.
Kim said: “We had a little living room at the back of the house, which meant our kitchen was very small. It meant that when kids were out the front playing football, we could shut the doors and not hear them.
“We had that set up for about 40 years, but it was really small and we didn’t have much room.
“We’d been asked a few times about having the work done, but we kept saying no. Eventually, I thought that it was about time I got a bigger kitchen with more space for a washing machine in there as there wasn’t room for one before, so we agreed.”
It’s made life far easier for me and I’m always in there now!
Kim added that she was able to pick the flooring and cupboards for the new kitchen and praised the workmen who carried out the refurbishment.
She said: “They came in and had a look and it was a blank canvas for them. They were given permission to knock some walls through and they did the design and I could pick my flooring and cupboards.
“It’s a fantastic job and the lads were very friendly. It’s made life far easier for me and I’m always in there now!
“They have done a wonderful job.”
Andrew Griffiths, Project Surveyor, oversaw the work at Mr and Mrs Meakin’s home.
He said: “Working closely with our partnering contractor Bell Group, it’s pleasing to see the level of improvement that can be achieved when we focus on the needs of our customers.
“I’m so happy that Mr and Mrs Meakin are pleased with the result and feel that it’s made life easier for them. It’s been a pleasure working with them every step of the way.
