Our commitment to the FREDIE aims
As an organisation, we’re committed to having an inclusive working environment that respects and welcomes people from all backgrounds and abilities.
To help us ensure the people who work for us are diverse, the opportunities we offer are fair and that we continue to improve the way we communicate with our customers, we’re focused on a series of behaviours categorised as
FREDIE.
FREDIE stands for Fairness, Respect, Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Engagement.
F – Fairness. It’s really important to us that we’re fair in everything we do as an organisation.
R – Respect. We must be respectful to everyone we work with, including customers and colleagues.
E – Equality. We’re committed to making sure everybody is treated as equals, regardless of their personal
circumstances.
D – Diversity. It’s important that our workforce is as diverse as the communities we service.
I – Inclusion. We’ll ensure customers and colleagues are encouraged to be involved in everything we do.
E – Engagement. We know how important feedback is to ensure we’re delivering appropriate services for our
customers and are an employer that works for our colleagues.
By taking this approach, which is endorsed by the National Centre for Diversity, we’re working towards achieving an award that will recognise our progress in each of these areas.
We’ve held a number of training sessions for colleagues to introduce the FREDIE behaviours and we’re aiming to implement them right across our organisation over the coming months.
