How we can help tackle hoarding woes
Longhurst Group is committed to dealing with cases of hoarding in a professional, respectful and sensitive manner.
We’re experienced in working with people who are dealing with problems relating to hoarding. Rachael Dobson, Head of Housing Services, said: “We take hoarding very seriously and we’re very experienced in dealing with such cases.
“In any case involving hoarding, we take a sensitive approach as we understand there are often other issues contributing to the hoarding. “This is why we also work with other partner organisations to help address these other needs, as well as tackling the hoarding.
“We know that hoarding can be very specific to different people and each case is different. “Therefore, if anyone has any concerns about a neighbour’s hoarding, we’d encourage them to contact us as the landlord in the first instance, so we can begin our investigations and start a joint approach with other agencies to deal with the issue.”
Rachael added that the majority of hoarding cases come about through the Group discovering the problem for a variety of reasons, including a contractor report, a no-access visit or non-compliance.
