Working together to provide energy efficient homes
Collaborative working between teams has seen improvements made to several properties in Nottinghamshire.
The homes in Castle Mews in Mansfield Woodhouse have been selected for energy efficiency improvement works as part of the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) project.
However, to minimise disruption for our customers, our Planned Works Team has been working closely with our SHDF Team so that planned work to replace windows and doors can take place just before the work identified as part of the SHDF project.
This has meant two programmes of work are able to be completed consecutively, reducing waiting times for customers, taking up less of their time while work is carried out and delivering big improvements to the energy efficiency of their homes.
A similar approach will be taken at a number of properties that are part of the SHDF project. Paul Veni, Head of Planned Works, said: “We appreciate that some of the work we need to do at our customers’ homes can be intrusive and time consuming, although it’s always done for the benefit of our customers.
“By working closely with the SHDF Team, we’ve been able to streamline two programmes of work at Castle Mews and make sure we’re doing what we need to do as quickly as possible, before the SHDF work follows on.
“We’re pleased with how this has been going and will look to collaborate with the SHDF Team on other homes to ensure our customers are living in warmer, more energy efficient homes as soon as possible.”
Jo-ann Stother, SHDF Programme Manager, added: “It’s been great working closely with Paul and the Planned Works Team and our customers have appreciated the joined-up approach.
“The SHDF project is delivering really impressive results for our customers and we’ll continue to work closely with colleagues in other teams to make sure we keep the disruption to a minimum.”
