FAQs – our job application and interview process

How do I apply?

Just click on the "Find out more and apply online" button and you’ll be taken through the steps one at a time. You will need to set up an account if this is the first time you’ve applied for a job at Longhurst Group.

Do I need to fill out all of the sections on the application form?

Yes, the more information you provide the easier it is for us to assess whether you are the right person for the job.

What else will I need to complete the form?

The job description and person specification will help you tailor your application to the vacancy. Try to demonstrate how your experiences and attributes relate to the role you are applying for. Also, take a look at our vision and values – do you want to work for a company where you can make a difference?

Do you accept CVs?

Our online Application Form is our main method of recruitment, in most case this means supporting your CV though our recruitment platform.

Unfortunately we cannot accept any speculative CVs.

Can I apply for more than one job?

Of course, if your skills and experience match more than one vacancy you are welcome to apply for as many as interest you.

What happens once I submit my application?

Once you’ve hit the "Apply" button you will then be notified that your application has been received.

You can check your account to see the status of your application – and you will be notified if at any point your application has been unsuccessful.

We will contact you via telephone or email if you are successful, to arrange an interview.

I have a disability – will I need to disclose details?

Please make us aware of any special requirements you may need should you be invited to interview. There is a section on the application form for this.

I do not have a UK work permit, will you still accept my application?

No, you need a valid UK work permit to work at Longhurst Group.

When will I find out if I have been selected for interview?

The selection process will not begin before the application deadline. If you have been selected for interview we will usually contact you by telephone or email (please check your spam/junk folder), and we will aim to provide at least a week’s notice.

Can I attend an interview outside of working hours (9am-5pm)?

All of our interviews take place in working hours, we are unable to accommodate other times.

Will I need to bring any documents to my interview?

You will need to bring proof of your identity and right to work in the UK i.e. an EU passport or birth certificate.

If you hold a non-EU passport you will also need to provide evidence that you are able to work in the UK (NI number, work permit or visa).
