How can Rent to Buy help you buy your own home?

Rent to Buy is a government scheme allowing you the chance to rent a brand-new home at a reduced rate. It gives you the opportunity to save a deposit to buy your home outright within five years.

That’s what Craig and Sophie Davis did at Ashvale Place in Tuxford. After finding out we were building Rent to Buy homes on the site, Craig and Sophie knew it'd be the perfect way to get onto the property ladder.

What is Rent to Buy?

Rent to Buy is a scheme that's been introduced to help you on your journey to home ownership. Rent to Buy allows you to move into your new property straight away and pay a reduced rent (20 percent below the open market rent), giving you extra time – and money – to save towards your mortgage deposit.

Craig, 34, and Sophie, 27, say they believe the affordability of Rent to Buy has helped them realise their dreams. They said: “It’s perfect for our circumstances and means we’ll be able to save for a deposit and eventually get ourselves on the property ladder. We definitely plan to buy this property outright at the end of the five years, and we can’t wait!”

We love everything about this house and everything has been plain sailing. All the staff have been very helpful when needed.

Buying your dream home with Rent to Buy

For Craig and Sophie, Rent to Buy has given them the opportunity to move into a brand-new home with their two children after living in a privately rented property in Tuxford.

They found the whole process very simple. They told us: “We’re completely happy with everything so far. From customer service to the house itself, we honestly can’t fault any of the process. We love everything about this house and everything has been plain sailing. All the staff have been very helpful when needed.”

Craig and Sophie can’t stop telling their friends and family about their new Rent to Buy home and have told us they have since found out their extended family will be moving onto the development after taking their advice.
