The first home has been sold on our Boolean Fields development on the outskirts of Lincoln

Kerry, 26, has bought the property in Waddington – named after renowned mathematician George Boole – on a shared ownership basis.

Boolean Fields, our development in partnership with local construction firm Lindum, sits at the foot of Station Road in Waddington, half a mile from where Boole ran a school in the village during the 1830s.

The name was chosen to reflect his connection to the village, which was also his home during his 20s.

Kerry said she instantly fell in love with the development and knew which property she wanted to buy.

“The properties are very well sized and being able to have a two double bedroomed house as a first property is definitely a good place to start out,” she said.

“Trying to get on the property ladder as a single person is incredibly hard. With only having one income, the banks don’t want to lend you a great deal.

“For me I’ve always wanted to buy a house and the shared ownership scheme helped me do that without having to have a massive deposit - which would’ve taken me many years to save up.

“The area is very modern looking. I love the fact it has a private road and plenty of space for parking.

“The house is very spacious. They might look smaller from the outside, but they are completely different inside.

“The view of the farmers’ fields in the evening is beautiful as the sun sets.”

Boolean Fields consists of 51 homes, including 30 shared ownership properties and 21 others which will be offered for affordable rent.

We decided to name the development after Boole to ensure there was a connection to the local area.

Kerry said she would recommend the development and shared ownership to anyone looking to get on the housing ladder.

“The Longhurst Group team dealing with Boolean Fields replied to every question I asked and were very friendly, welcoming and extremely efficient.

“I couldn’t have dealt with more helpful people and I would definitely recommend Longhurst and this development to family and friends.

“The house is beautiful and I can’t wait to move in.”

Christopher Parkinson, Corporate Sales Manager at Longhurst Group, said he was delighted to help Kerry buy her first home.

He said: “We believe that everyone deserves a place to call their own and our homes on this superb development are evidence of our commitment to this.

“It’s great to be part of a team that is able to offer well-designed, attractive homes at an affordable price.

“The shared ownership initiative is an excellent way of allowing those looking to move into home ownership to purchase through a more affordable option. The level of deposit required and the monthly costs are significantly lower, meaning we’re able to help more people get on to the housing ladder.”
