Coronavirus: Our response
12 March 2020
Coronavirus update 18/03/2020
We have created a dedicated page about Coronavirus which will be kept up to date with advice and information for customers.
Please visit longhurst-group.org.uk/covid19-updates
With a growing number of confirmed cases of coronavirus reported across Europe, Longhurst Group has been quick to respond in order protect our customers, colleagues and wider communities.
We have sourced or are continuing to source anti-viral hand sanitisers for all of our office locations, while our Care and Support colleagues – as well as those who regularly work away from an office – are being issued with individual sanitisers to protect themselves and others while on the go.
Our team of colleagues has been regularly updated with the latest guidance and advice from the NHS and Public Health England and encouraged to take all necessary precautions. Our contractors have also taken the same precautions.
To help keep our customers safe, we are talking to our contractors to ensure they have the right processes in place to manage risk.
If you are a customer who has an appointment booked with us and are showing symptoms, please let us know as soon as possible and also call 111 for urgent medical advice.
If you have an appointment to attend one of our offices or are planning to visit one of our offices, please consider whether you can make alternative arrangements by conducting the appointment over the phone or contacting us online.
If you have any questions or concerns, please get in touch using the contact details here.
Spotting the signs of Coronavirus
For the most up-to-date information on coronavirus please visit the NHS webpage:
We would urge customers to continue to follow the Government’s advice to avoid catching and spreading germs.
- Always carry tissues with you and use them to catch your cough or sneeze. Then bin the tissue, and wash your hands, or use a sanitiser gel.
- Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after using public transport. Use a sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
- Avoid close contact with people who are unwell.
The symptoms of Coronavirus are similar to a flu:
- Cough
- High temperature
- Shortness of breath
If you have these symptoms, or you have recently returned from travelling to an affected area, you should call the NHS helpline on 111.
Please do not visit your GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital.
