Longhurst Group increases stock to over 21,000 properties after completing transfer

LONGHURST Group has extended its stock to over 21,000 properties after completing the transfer of 27 leasehold schemes.

The Group, which operates in almost 50 local authority areas across the Midlands and East of England, transferred the properties from Waterloo Housing Association and took responsibility for the schemes at the beginning of July.

This transfer comes hot on the heels of the Group’s recent merger with Axiom Housing Association and increases the organisation’s leasehold for older people portfolio by a third.

Comprising over 600 properties, the schemes are primarily located in Leicestershire and Birmingham, with a selection in Hertfordshire, Grantham and Cambridgeshire.

Sharon Guest, Executive Director of Housing Services at Longhurst Group, said: “This transfer further emphasises the Group’s ambition to grow, both in terms of the number of properties we own and manage and by extending our reach into new areas across the Midlands and beyond.

“It also illustrates our commitment to provide a diverse range of properties that ensure we give greater choice and flexibility to people that are looking for high-quality affordable housing. We will use our expertise in leasehold management to provide the best possible service to the existing residents.”

Thirteen of the schemes have on-site scheme managers who have now joined Longhurst Group.
