More than 60 affordable homes could be built in Elm after plans were submitted to the local authority.
We've partnered with Bowsall Developments Ltd and drawn up plans for 63 homes on Gosmoor Lane.
The development would be made up of one, two, three and four bedroom properties, including maisonettes, bungalows and houses.
Some of the homes on the development will also be built to a fully accessible standard.
Marcus Keys, Executive Director for Growth and Development, said: “We’re delighted to have been able to submit these plans for more than 60 affordable homes in Elm.
“The development, if granted approval, will provide much needed affordable housing to the area and with the homes being made available across several different tenures, it would provide opportunities to many local people who wish to get onto the property ladder.
“It’s a key theme in our Improving Lives vision to provide the homes people want where they’re needed the most, and we believe these plans would help us to achieve this, while further enhancing the housing stock in this part of Cambridgeshire.
“We’re also committed, where possible, to providing fully accessible housing within our developments, so we’re really pleased to have been able to incorporate this into some of the properties within these plans.”
“We’re also committed, where possible, to providing fully accessible housing within our developments, so we’re really pleased to have been able to incorporate this into some of the properties within these plans.”
If approved by Fenland District Council, the development would include 26 of the proposed homes being made available on tenures which provide an affordable route towards home ownership, with the rest being available on an affordable rent basis.
A total of 127 car parking spaces would also be included, either on plot or in private courts and new trees would be planted along the street line to soften the impact of this parking provision, as well as improving air quality and to contribute to biodiversity.
Glenn Rowson, Managing Director of Bowsall Developments Ltd, said: “We’re delighted to have been able to submit these plans in partnership with Longhurst Group.
“We’re committed to bringing forward development opportunities to provide much needed affordable housing and we’re pleased to be able to bring Longhurst Group on board to deliver this proposal.
“We’re looking forward to making these plans become a reality and providing affordable housing opportunities for local people should planning permission be granted by Fenland District Council.”
