New affordable homes in Tuxford provide couple with chance to get on housing ladder

Longhurst Group’s new development in Tuxford is providing more affordable housing in the area.
We’ve built Ashvale Place to provide the homes people want, where they’re needed most, and one couple who’ve recently moved in believe it’s provided them with the perfect opportunity to get on the property ladder.
Craig and Sophie Davis have moved into one of the homes on a Rent to Buy basis having previously lived in a privately rented home in Tuxford.
They say the affordability of the scheme, which sees properties rented at 80 percent of market value for up to five years to allow renters to save for a deposit to then buy the home, has helped them realise their dreams.
It’s perfect for our circumstances and means we’ll be able to save for a deposit and eventually get ourselves on the property ladder.
Sophie, 27, said: “We became aware of Ashvale Place about two years ago when Longhurst Group bought the land.
“The fact we knew there were going to be some Rent to Buy properties available on the development was very appealing as we knew this would be the perfect way for us to get onto the property ladder.
“It’s perfect for our circumstances and means we’ll be able to save for a deposit and eventually get ourselves on the property ladder.
“We definitely plan to buy this property outright at the end of the five years, and we can’t wait!”
Craig and Sophie have recently moved into their home with their two children and praised the support of Longhurst Group colleagues along their journey.
“We’re completely happy with everything so far,” Sophie added.
“From customer service to the house itself, I honestly can’t fault any of the process.
“We’ve even spoken to family about the Rent to Buy properties available and told them how easy and perfect it all is. We actually have some family moving onto the development after they took our advice!
“We love everything about this house and everything has been plain sailing. All the staff have been very helpful when needed.”
