Plans approved for 30 new affordable homes near Peterborough

Longhurst Group will deliver a new fully-affordable housing development in a village near Peterborough after our plans were approved by the local authority.

We’ll deliver the 30 affordable homes on land to the east of Bramble Close in Newborough.

The homes will be available for social rent, Rent to Buy and Shared Ownership and will be a combination of one, two and three bedroom properties.

Marcus Keys, Executive Director for Growth and Development, said: “We’re delighted to have received planning permission to deliver this fully-affordable development of 30 homes in Newborough.

As a Group, we’re keen to support housing provision in rural areas as well as urban locations, and we know there’s a need for affordable housing in this particular area.

“By making these homes available across a range of affordable tenures, we’ll be providing much needed affordable housing which aligns with our Improving Lives vision of delivering the homes people want, where they’re needed most.

I’d also like to thank everybody who took part in the consultation process before we submitted the plans. Your feedback helped us shape our final proposals and we’re looking forward to starting work on these homes and helping local people realise their home ownership aspirations.”

The approved plans also include proposals for car parking and green open space, as well as improved pedestrian routes back into the village. A play area will also be included on the development.

Work could start in the Spring once a section 106 agreement has been signed.
