Plans approved for 63 affordable homes in Fenland village
10 February 2023
More than 60 affordable homes are to be built in Elm after plans were approved by the local council.
We’ve partnered with Bowsall Developments Ltd to provide 63 homes on Gosmoor Lane.
The new development will be made up of one, two, three and four bedroom homes, including maisonettes, bungalows and houses.
Some of the homes on the development will also be built to a fully accessible standard.
Marcus Keys, Executive Director of Growth and Development, said: “We’re delighted to have received approval to build these homes at Gosmoor Lane in Elm and further enhancing our housing stock in this area.
“We know there’s a need for affordable housing in the area and this development will help to provide some of the required properties.
“By providing the homes across several different tenures, we’ll also be providing opportunities to many local people who wish to get onto the property ladder.
“One of our key pledges in our Improving Lives strategy is to provide the homes people want, where they’re needed the most and by developing this site on Gosmoor Lane we’ll be moving closer to achieving this aim.
“We’re also committed, where possible, to providing fully accessible housing within our developments, so we’re really pleased to have been able to incorporate this into some of the properties within these plans.”
The Gosmoor Lane developments will see 26 of the homes being made available on tenures which provide an affordable route towards home ownership, with the rest being available on an affordable rent basis.
Work will start once all legal formalities have been completed.
Glenn Rowson, Managing Director of Bowsall Developments Ltd added: “We’re delighted that this scheme has been approved.
“We’ve been working very closely with the local authority and statutory consultees to ensure that a high-quality development can be provided.
“We’re now very much looking forward to delivering these much-needed affordable homes with Longhurst Group.”
