Work on development of 100 affordable new homes in Lincolnshire gets underway
20 December 2021
Work has started on 100 affordable new homes in the Lincolnshire village of Witham St Hughs.
We’ve partnered with developer Countryside to deliver the homes across two separate sites off Warren Lane in the village.
The first site will see 70 homes made available for affordable rent or shared ownership. On the second site, a further 30 homes will be built, with all being offered on an affordable rent or shared ownership basis.
Initial works have now started, with 58 of the homes being developed through funding received through our strategic partnership with Homes England.
Nick Worboys, our Director of Growth, Development and Sales, said: “We’re delighted to see work start on these exciting developments, which will bring more affordable homes to North Kesteven.
“As a Group, we’re committed to working with our partners to respond to local need, providing the homes that people need, where they’re needed most, and this fully-affordable scheme is a fantastic example of that.

“We’re pleased to be working once again with Countryside, with whom we enjoy a great relationship and we now look forward to seeing these houses brought to fruition, providing a place to call home for families and young people in Witham St Hughs and the wider area.”
The homes will be handed over to us over several years, with the first set to be completed by May next year.
Glyn Mabey, Managing Director of Countryside East Midlands, said: “Working in partnership to deliver new homes has a great many benefits, not least of which is the insight it gives us into the needs of local people.
“We’re very proud to be continuing our partnership with Longhurst Group to create high quality new homes across a variety of tenures and we look forward to creating this important new community for Witham St Hughs.”
